Attendance Service

Working with families to improve school attendance for children who have a high level of unjustified absences. 

The Attendance Service works alongside families and schools to improve school attendance for tamariki who have a high level of unjustified absences.

Truancy can be due to a range of factors. Our attendance officer assists rangatahi to get the support they need to get back into school or alternative education. 

Safer Mid Canterbury has delivered the Attendance Service in the Ashburton District since 2002. We work alongside other agencies in the district, whānau and young people, to help put plans and strategies in place to increase school attendance.
